These are some highlights of the features provided by the Elvis DAM platform.
Searching
“Google” like search with a high performance search engine. Narrow results down with filters based on the metadata and sort them to find your content quickly and efficiently.
Browsing
Browse through your material with the folder browser, allowing you to look through the file structure. Filters and sorting options are available to search in folders.
Previewing
Preview content in the context of your search results with high quality previews of images, video, audio, PDF’s, office documents and many other filetypes.
Importing
The desktop client has a manual import to add files, but you can also configure automatic imports, hot folders, wirefeeds and archiving from integrated systems.
Editing content
To edit content that’s in elvis you check the content out of Elvis. This will download files to your local system and you can drag ‘n drop them in other applications.
Collections
Collections are containers or virtual folders used to organize content and prepare them for sharing or editing. Any kind of file can be dragged to a collection.
Sharing content
Collect content and e-mail a link to a co-worker or client. This content can be viewed in any browser or in the desktop client. Permissions and expiration date to the shared content is configurable.
Favorites & saved searches
You can create quick links to your favorite locations by dragging them to the favorites panel, including folders, collections and Saved Searches.
Relations
Elvis can manage and display a wide variety of relations. They can be applied manually as well as automatically through import, archive or check-in processes or by using XMP metadata.
Perspectives
Configure and save preferences for the user interface and apply them to entire user groups. Perspectives save your general client layout, favorites, quick sorts and other settings.
Flagging
Quickly identify rights, status, source or any other characteristic for the assets you are browsing, with flags that give visual hints about content metadata. Flags are completely configurable.
Metadata panel
Metadata is displayed next to the search results and when you want to see more information you can view any of the 300+ metadata fields in the metadata panel, which also works for multiple items.
Metadata extraction & embedding
Metadata inside files – like EXIF Camera information or keywords and copyright added in Adobe Photoshop – is extracted and added to the search index when they are added to Elvis.
Required metadata – the right way
It’s important to gather metadata the moment you import assets, so we designed a user friendly way to encourage entering required metadata without frustrating people.
Elvis API
Elvis offers many ways to customize and integrate. One of the most versatile is the Elvis API. The API comes in two flavors, a SOAP webservice and a REST API.
Metadata based permissions
Permissions on content can not only be set on folders, but on any metadata field. This allows for fine-grained control over what users can do with content they find in Elvis.
Permissions for metadata fields
Control who can view and who can edit specific metadata fields. You can hide sensitive metadata from groups of users or allow only specific users to edit certain metadata.
Custom metadata
You may always have specific information you want to keep track of that does not fit one of the 300+ standard metadata fields. You can add as many custom metadata fields and groups as you want.
Client plugins
Create custom functionality in the desktop client to meet your needs. Custom menus and buttons can be used to open dialogues and tabs containing specific features or integrations
Server plugins
Create automated server tasks that require no user interaction, for example for asset ingestion workflows, server side integrations and data migration.
